Job Overview

 

·         The Market Risk Management/ Product Control (MRM/PC) team provides independent analysis, management and monitoring of market risks as well as controlling the P&L. MRM/PC also proactively reviews deal approvals via analysis of downside scenarios and risk mitigating instructions. In order to perform these tasks the EM Rates & FX team within MRM/PC uses Summit (Front office system), Web-based reporting tools and an in-house built Product Control tool for Reconciliation/ P&L Reporting (PCREC) and information from the Financial Accounting System.

 

·         As the EM Rates Trading & Sales portfolio covers various Asian markets and shows continues growth and variety in business requirements we are looking for an enthusiastic Product Control Analyst that can support our process and develop his/her skills on the job for both Market Risk and Product Control.

 

Main Responsibilities

 

·         Analyse daily P&L and provide information to Management and traders and provide explanations based on market movements and main exposures

·         Prepare daily profit and loss (P&L) report using information from accounting systems and General Ledger, as well as Front Office Systems

·         Compare daily profit and loss movements with the front office system ( Summit) and identify differences

·         Document trader's daily sign-off of P&L report and highlight exceptions

·         Act as liaison between middle office, operations and front office to reconcile breaks relating to P&L and positions

·         Prepare month-end management information reports i.e., balance sheet and P&L analysis, and reports used for periodic reviews by internal audit and regulators

·         Ensure correctness of P&L for management and financial reporting and make necessary accounting adjustments during the month-end and quarter-end closing periods

·         Prepare ad-hoc regulatory reports

·         Assist with User Acceptance Test and participate in new system implementation if required

·         Participate in product-related projects and initiatives

 

Pre-requisites

 

·         A team player who is analytical, pro-active and resourceful

·         Ability to work independently

·         BSc / MSc in either Banking/Finance or Accounting

·         About 4 years’ experience in a Finance or Product Control environment

·         Affinity with Financial Markets and preferably the Rates & FX Markets

·         Strong Excel skills

·         Knowledge of Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) is desirable but not required
